title pic Busy Busy

Posted by devadoll on September 3, 2009

School started for my kids about 3 weeks ago and for me 1 1/2 weeks later. I wish I could say it has been easy going, but this year is going to prove to be SUPER busy… at least by my standards!

Kaya is now a youth cheerleader for Oak Grove and I am a coach of her squad. I am looking forward to this getting me some much needed exercise! LOL Our first game is on Sept 12, so we have a week to go to get these girls ready to cheer in public! EEK!

I have school 5 days a week and my long days are Tues and Thurs and I have a dear friend helping me on Thurs since I don’t get home until an hour after the girls.

I need to post pics of our Gulf Shores trip where we went at the beginning of this month! I promise that will come SOON!

The kids started back to school the 6th of August and I started back on the 20th. We stayed at Da Beach House in Gulf Shores the weekend after the kids started back and I really bonded with Champagne. Found out, when this 10th grader of mine starts college, he wants to go to the Naval Academy in MD. WOW! I’m impressed with his decision making, especially knowing that he wants to go straight from there into the Marines. I’m so proud of that dude!

We are all doing great and keeping busy. Kaya is going to be a youth cheerleader for Oak Grove and I am an assistant coach for her squad. Go Warriors!

Posted by devadoll on August 13, 2009

Ok, so this is soo OT (off topic… like I have had a topic in the last couple of weeks  as I have been too busy!)

So I*think* I am a nice person.  I care about other people and hope that they get what they want in life, pray for their needs, wish them well, etc… I think a lot of us do just that.

Now, I look at a friend of mine’s picture on Facebook… dear, dear, friend I have not spoken to (except online) in a few years.  I love her dearly.  But I looked at her face in her profile pic and thought to myself “Now there is a NICE person”…. you can tell by her eyes…. they are sooo giving, so caring.

I think of myself in what I think about other people.  Most people I really, truly like.  I give them the full benefit of the doubt.  However,  why is it that I have trouble turning the other cheek?  I admit that I am sooo not perfect and upset others myself.  I think to myself that I could have done better, reacted better to situations, etc… but there are some people (VERY few and far between) that I feel they don’t care about anyone but themselves… I dunno…

I know I am rambling here.  I guess this bothers me.  I don’t like it when someone doesn’t like me.  I don’t like having someone in “close proximity” that I don’t like, but that is the case.  I then tend to focus on the negative about said person.  Why would  I do that?   Why don’t I try in all earnest to “make things right”?….

Ok… enough of my bedtime ramblings……

Posted by devadoll on July 17, 2009

I am so tired of having to keep on the girls to pick up what they get out. Sometimes by the time I notice, it is a WRECK in the hall!

So, today I am having the girls clean clean clean! Maybe, just maybe, they will learn how aggravating it is to have what they clean get back dirty.

title pic Ick! Snake story in the news today!

Here’s the 1st part of the article:

SNAKES ALIVE … Tim Dunaway of Purvis was toolin’ down the highway headed home from work, cruise set at 75 in a 65 zone – no worry in the world, except that some Mississippi State Highway Patrol trooper might be having a bad day.

Then the tail of what looked like a 4-foot cottonmouth water moccasin slipped from under the dash and dangled down between his legs. Suddenly, the presence of a state trooper didn’t seem such a bad thing.

But before Tim could say “scat,” he realized he should have been wearing Depends Undergarments.

“I screamed like a little girl,” Tim admitted, “and got both feet on the seat as fast as I could. That’s one time it helped to have little short legs. Still, I kept screaming like a girl and cussin’ that snake the whole time.”

Posted by devadoll on

Scott has gone with the boys to McComb.  Champagne and CJ are heading out tomorrow to go on a youth trip to North Carolina.  I know they will enjoy it!   I am going to miss them this coming week!

While we have some time without “stinky boys”, Kaya, Bella, and I will have a girl day.  Right now, though, they are arguing…. what else is new?  lol

I think I will work on my tan in the pool this afternoon!  Yes, that sounds like a plan! It has been so hot the last few weeks that I haven’t been outside much during the heat of the day….anyone for 100 degree temps?

After the rain we received this past Monday and Tuesday (tons of it!) after close to 1 1/2 months of NO rain, it was a welcome relief.  However, my pool did not like it and the water turned green.  BLECK!  I spent 2 days working on it…. chemicals and all….and now it’s back crystal blue clear!

Yes, the pool will feel so good this afternoon and I will have fun playing with the girls in it.
